Lecture on how education works: the influence of the environment
About
Humans are social creatures, which means that the environment determines how our naturally laid possibilities are realized. In the lecture at Papers, we will discuss the environmental factors that influence a person's success in the learning process.
What affects the motivation to learn, can we somehow control how hard a person strives, and can we teach ourselves to enjoy studying? We will find out why different schools yield different results, whether schools will survive in the age of artificial intelligence, and what is truly important: curriculum, selection, culture, expectations. These are just some of the questions we will discuss in the lecture.
The lecture will be delivered by Anton Zakharov, a physiologist, science popularizer, and academic director of the "Proektor" school.
