Mineral mapping of Georgia

Workshop and lecture at Papers: we will study, examine, and touch rare minerals How to distinguish chalcedony from agate? Why are obsidian and opal not considered minerals? We will discuss this on April 14 at the lecture by artist and mineral researcher Maria Dmitrieva. What Maria will talk about: ▫️how to search for and identify minerals in the mountains or by the seaside; 🔹what processes shaped the region's landscape and where volcanic rocks came from; ▪️where to find (and how not to miss!) the most interesting textures and layers; 🔺how to "read" stones to understand the region's history more deeply.
