What happened on the territory of Georgia several thousand years ago

Diaochi, Colchis, Iberia — states that once existed on the territory of modern Georgia. To get to know them better, we will travel back several thousand years — from the 12th century BC to the 6th century AD. In the lecture, we will discuss: ▫️what Colchis was famous for and what the myth of the Argonauts has to do with it; ▫️why ancient states found it so important to conquer Georgian territories; ▫️what role Christianity played in these confrontations. The lecture will be delivered by Giorgi Mamardashvili — a doctor of anthropology, research fellow at the National Museum of Georgia.
