The history of electric transport in Georgia
About
Transport, especially electric, says a lot about the characteristics of cities: their terrain, layout, and historical development. We will discuss all of this in a lecture at Papers. We will also analyze city maps with route lines and look at old photographs.
The lecture will be conducted by Alexander Zelentsov, an engineer and researcher of transport history. You will learn when the first electric transport appeared in Georgia and what it was like, how the metro was built in Tbilisi, why trams stopped operating in the city, and what the role of cable cars is in urban planning.
